Less than 20 minutes from Darlington Hotel by tube, Camden Market is the Capital’s fourth most visited visitor attraction. Interestingly, despite its name, it isn’t just one market. It’s actually a collection of three markets known collectively as Camden Market. The markets are also known by their other name of Camden Lock.
While Camden first came into being in the 1800s, as a market, it came to life in the 1970s. Since then, it has grown and changed to meet the needs of Londoners. Today, it gets around 250,000 visitors a week.
Once there, visitors stroll around the three connected markets: Stables Market, Camden Lock Village and the Inverness Street Market. There they’ll find stalls selling bric-a-brac, clothing, crafts and food.
The market is open every day, including bank holidays, from 10 AM to 6 PM apart from Christmas Day.
