The London skyline is like no other in the world. The view from the London Eye lets you be a part of that view for your 30-minute spin. On a clear day, you can see up to 40 kilometres in every direction. Inside each high tech capsule, you can enjoy an interactive guide to the view, available in multiple languages.
Before you hop on the London Eye, you should take the opportunity to experience the London 4D Cinema Experience. The video is 4 minutes long. It features 3D aerial photography from across the whole of the city. The video experience is free with all London Eye tickets.
The London Eye offers several ways to upgrade your experience if you want to make the visit even more special. You can have an exceptional champagne experience or perhaps choose a ticket that lets you cut the line. If you really want to push the boat out, you can hire a private capsule to have all to yourselves.
From the same venue, you can also catch the boat for a river cruise. This guided tour will let you take in the city sights from a different point of view.
How To Get There
To get to the London Eye from the Darlington Hotel takes around 30 minutes. You have two options to get there using the underground. From Paddington Station, you can take the Bakerloo line for nine stops until you reach the Waterloo Station. The other option is to get on the Circle line and travel nine stops to Westminster Station.
Planning a Visit
The London Eye opens at 10 am and closes between 6 pm and 8.30 pm depending on the time of year. The London Eye is one of the most popular tourist attractions in London, so it’s strongly advisable that you book in advance. It’s also cheaper to do so.
If you buy your tickets online, you can get combination tickets. This can make it cheaper to access a number of London attractions. You can bundle the ticket for the London Eye with the Sea Life Centre, Madame Tussauds, The London Dungeon, Shrek’s Adventure, The Big Bus tour or a river cruise.
