Portobello Market

Portobello Market

Portobello Market is one of the most well-known markets in the world. The buzz and excitement are unmatched. Not many visitors to the market are aware that Portobello market is actually made up of several markets. If you want to experience them all on the same day, then Saturday is the day you should plan to visit.

Along with the antiques that Portobello markets are best known for you can also find vintage clothes and some amazing street food.

The market isn’t just for those who enjoy shopping. As well as all the stalls, there are numerous and delightful street performances to enjoy. A visit to the Portobello market is something memorable and special, no matter when you visit.

How To Get There
If you’re coming from the Darlington Hotel, it takes about 16 minutes. The best route is to get on the Circle line at Paddington Station and travel three stops to Ladbroke Grove Station. If you’re coming from another part of London, then the other option is the Ladbroke Grove Stop on the underground.

When you get out of the tube station, all you need to do is follow the signs. Or follow the crowds!

What’s On When?
The shops and cafes that line the streets are open every day of the week. The markets stalls come and go depending on the day of the week

Monday - Wednesday - The market stalls are open from around 9 am until 6 pm. There are Fashion and Clothing, Fruit and Veg, Bric-a-Brac and Food stalls open.
Thursday - The same stalls are open as on Monday-Wednesday, but the stalls are only open until around three.
Friday - On Friday there are more food and bric-a-brac stalls open as well as the renowned antique stalls.
Saturday - All the market stalls are open from 9 am to 7 pm as well as the antique arcades. Saturday is by far the busiest day. If you’re looking to find a bargain, then you need to arrive bright and early.
Sunday - All you’ll find open are the stalls and cafes that line the street. There are no market stalls.
